There’s nothing like a sweet crisp taste sensation with every bite, so we started growing CROC EGGS™ plums.
New generation plums
CROC EGG™ plums are Australian grown in regions that experience warm days and cool nights including Cobram. Only the highest quality fruit is hand selected from the orchards and allowed to wear the CROC EGGS™ premium sticker to indicate the plum is always going to be luscious, firm but juicy and delicious. The CROC EGG™ plums come in a range of skin colours, including black, red and speckled, which are the sweetest of all. Montague CROC EGGS™ plums are known for containing antioxidants and their juicy, red flesh with naturally high sugars making them the perfect sweet, summer treat.
Handpicked from orchards across Australia during summer, CROC EGGS™ are available from November to March each year. The “dappled” red flesh plums (pictured on the left), often have a higher amount of sunshine which makes these plums sweeter than others. CROC EGGS™ plums grow well with cool nights and warm, sunny days.
How to eat
Whether you are having people over for a summer dinner party or looking for a delicious afternoon snack, the juicy, firm and sweet CROC EGGS™ plums are perfect for any occasion.
Try roasting the plums and serving as a canape on a crostini with whipped ricotta and honey.
The best way to store your plums is to keep them in the fruit bowl until they reach the perfect ripeness, then enjoy or place them in the fridge to keep their firmness.
