People and Culture
At Montague, we really are like one big, proud family.
With a vision “To share our passion for quality produce with local and global communities through healthy, fun experience with our people and our products”, we are an Australian owned business, passionate about creating and promoting a sustainable horticulture industry.
And being family owned and managed, we are a company that truly values relationships – whether that be with our customers, our suppliers or our most important asset – our employees.
Montague’s Core Values
This focus on relationships, along with our commitment to delivering quality produce in an environmentally sustainable way, is reflected in Montague’s Core Values:
- Family Owned
- Authentic Relationships
- Honesty and Integrity
- Obsessed with Fresh
- Product Excellence
These values are the foundation of everything we do – everyday.
And it’s not just about apples!
While Montague may be best known for its apples (we do manage over 30 varieties of them!), we also manage more than 120 varieties of stone fruits and have recently added grapes and citrus to our product range.
Employing over 350 people across regional and metropolitan locations, in four Australian states, we grow, pack, market and trade our quality produce, servicing all major Australian retailers, wholesalers and exporters.
But we can’t do any of that without people!
In recognition of this, Montague is committed to creating an environment that inspires, empowers and enables our people to do their best every day. We do this by providing a range of employee benefits which include:
- A comprehensive Wellbeing program
- Learning and development opportunities
- Generous service awards
- Employee recognition program
- True career promotional opportunities
We acknowledge that our people passionately build our reputation and are essential in continuing to grow and enhance our business.
We are committed to providing an ethical and supportive workplace. We ensure this by abiding to the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018, which is based upon the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
