SYDNEY, 10 May 2017 -  Montague expands this seasons range of specialty Australian grown apples with the launch of its newest apple brand, Envy™. Innovators in horticulture, Montague are dedicated to offering Australian consumers consistent fresh produce. A sweet and dense new apple, Envy™ is the sweetest tasting apple in Montague’s range. The fresh new harvest was celebrated in Sydney this week and the new apple will only grace Woolworths shelves across VIC, NSW, QLD and TAS for a short debut season this month.

Originally discovered as a highly demanded apple brand in Asia, Montague planted Envy™ orchards in the Houn Valley (TAS), Batlow (NSW) and Stanthorpe (QLD) to create an Australian-first supply that would diversify the existing apple market. Sister variety to the already popular JAZZ™ apple, Envy™ apples’ greatest quality is its ability to maintain a bright white flesh well after being sliced, making it ideal for snacking, salads and serving platters.

Montague Director and third-generation family member, Scott Montague, says, “We are thrilled to partner with Woolworths to launch Envy™, a delicately sweet apple that has experienced high demand globally, and support growers throughout regional Australia. We are dedicated to offering Australian consumers with high quality flavours they demand”.

Envy™ is one of the latest success from the team at Montague who have been growing fresh produce for Australians since 1948. The brand’s short first season was launched with at event celebrating mothers and women around Mother’s Day at The Langham, Sydney. The fruit was showcased in a luxe morning tea menu where guest celebrities and influencers, Rachael Finch, Gai Waterhouse, Olena Khamula, Jo; Healthy Eating Jo and Sally; The Fit Foodie tasted the fruit and enjoyed a bespoke Envy™ creation made by patissier Adriano Zumbo.
